【Transport Information via Bus】：You can go from Taipei Main Station and take bus No. 260 at ZhengZhou Road. If you are at JiantanMRT Station you can take bus numbers R5, 小15 and 303. At Shihin MRT Staion you can travel via bus number R5, 小15, 303, 109 (Wanfang Route), 110 (DongHu Route), 111 (Hsinchuang Route during weekends) and Taipei Garden Road on Royal Bus (Taipei to Jinshan Route). Get off at Shanzhihou Police Substation and walk for 10 minutes to reach the institute
The applicant must be over 3 years of age and under 60 years old. The applicant must also possess middle, serious, or severe degrees of disability, as per the Disability Handbook. They must also have other various mental or other disabilities (these disabilities do not include defects such as eyesight, hearing, speech or mental illness). Only applicants 3-15 years of age whose legal guardian are untraceable or the applicant is under government protection are counted as an exclusive case.

The applicant and his/her legal guardian or parent must have a household registration in Taipei and live in the registered address for 6 months.
If you want to enroll into the institute, the applicant, legal guardian or parent must send fully completed application forms, the Disability Handbook and a copy of Household Registration to apply. After review are completed, and it is assessed that he/ she complies with requirements, the institute will notify the applicant to undergo trial caretaking sessions. Only after the session and requirements are met, will the student officially be part of the institute.
※ Anyone applying to enroll to the institute, be it the applicant, legal guardian or involved institutions, must provide a copy of Disability Handbook and Household Registration along with the application form.

Note: The Institute’s YongFu Area was established in July 1982, since then 27 years have passed. The area’s building foundations and equipment do not satisfy student’s needs. Therefore to comply with YongFu area’s complete renovation construction, the institute has applied for suspending applications on 27 July 2006. Only when renovations are completed will applying for enrollment be opened. Any inquiries contact +886-2-2861-3333)
After you have received the applications, social work section will get in contact with you to arrange an interview with the parents or legal guardian. Afterwards, discussions will be held to assess the enrollment of the student. Then they will send a postal notification of the outcome as soon as possible. Only after examinations and assessments are certain, making the institute a legalized entity in handling the training & educational curriculum, has the student officially enrolled into the institute. Duration of application is 60 days after the institute has received the application forms.
The institute provides 2 different ways: lodging in institute or commuting to and from the institute. Though, only students who comply with the regulations below are allowed to lodge in the institute:
1.
A parent is deceased or is over the age of 65.
2.
A parent, due to disabilities, is unable to provide care to students.
3.
The family has other relatives with disabilities that need to be taken care of.
4.
Through evaluations it is shown that without living in the institute the student is unable to undergo training.
Students are brought to the institute on Mondays at 08:30am then return home on Friday before 8pm
【Commuting】
The institute provides 7 routes for transportation via bus. Transport buses start to leave from their primary stop at 7am and bring the students back before 5:10pm (depending on the traffic).

Please arrange with Social Work section 2 weeks in advance to come see the institute. Make sure that the time, date, number of people visiting, type of organization and any special needs are established in advance.

Requirements needed to apply:
Applicants must be 13 to 65 years old, also possess compassion, patience, stamina and a voluntary spirit to apply. He/ she must be willing to come regularly every month to provide services to the institute and provide heartfelt individual care to disabled students.
He/she must belong to a university or a social services organization.

Participants will be assigned to different teams such as: Attentive Care Team, Section Support team, Vocational Counseling team, Activity assistance team and administration team.
4.
Service times: must be discussed between Social Work Section and the volunteer who comes to institute.
5.
If the organization as a group wants to provide volunteer services to the institute, they must come 2 weeks in advance before beginning to establish plans with the institute.

Duration to be leased: 08:30am to 17:30pm (during work hours)

Regulations for leasing: must apply to rent the facility at Social work Section 2 weeks in advance, activities guidebook, after use it must return to the same order it was left in, and during the use of the facility take special attention to students in the institute.
Lease of Premises2:
1.
Facility opened for lease: 99 Joyful Workhouse 2nd floor Conference room.
2.
Borrowing target:Parents and educational groups, schools at all levels and this government units
3.
Duration to be leased: Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm.
4.
Payment of lease: The premise is calculated in 3 hr intervals, for every interval costs covering water, electricity and cleaning expenses is charged at NT$ 500/- per interval.
5.
Regulations for use: reservations must be made with the workhouse and organization. Firstly, fill out the required applications forms. Afterwards, send it to Vocational Development Section 2 weeks in advance, then wait for a reply from the section.
