Introduction of Taipei Municipal Yang Ming Home for the Disabled

Yang-Ming is the first government-sponsored home for the disabled citizen in Taipei.The Yong-Fu Division was set up in 1982.Thereafter,in order to meet the increasing demand for rehabilitation of mentally disabled adults, Hua-Gang Division was additionally established to accommodate more residents.These two Divisions started to assist the disabled in 1997.

The maximum capacity of the Yang-Ming Home is 500.The Yong-Fu Division has the capacity to accommodate 200 residents.This Division provides services for those who need health maintenance and rehabilitation.The Hua-Gang Division has the capacity to accommodate 300 residents.This Division provides services for those who need care, training and educational services.

We work to provide a loving environment that encourages our residents to reach their full potential for their lives. The children and young residents in our care thrive and grow in a pleasant atmosphere. Our adult and senior residents receive the comfort and encouragement they deserve, cherished by our wonderful caregivers, who are often referred to as “guardian angels.”

We recognize that people who face these exceptional challenges do not always have all the choices as others enjoy. Therefore, we hope that through our hard work, love, support and respect of society, their lives can be both joyful and fulfilling.
